To the person who stole from me:
You came across my property last night and violated my belongings. You took things that had more sentimental value that you can understand. But when you decided to break into my car and take what you wanted for yourself, you saw something else. This is where my disappointment comes from the most. You saw my child’s car seat, you saw my child’s pack of diapers that I was too tired to bring into the house. You knew that you were stealing from a parent. As a parent you stole from my child and I am angry and hurt and violated. I am royally disappointed in you as a human being. You stole artifacts from my childhood that hold memories that I had planned to share with my kid. In time I will forgive you and in time I will forget you. But the adrenaline you felt when opening my car door will not leave you, the image you saw of the happy child on the pampers box of diapers as you rummaged through my glove box will not leave you. I pray that one day you will use this precious time on earth to do good things and maybe you can even get to the point of forgiving yourself.
